Canton Enamel Plate - Daoguang again?

Hi everyone,


In addition to the two plates I posted a couple of days ago I acquired a third plate.
This one is very similar but with a different mark.

Is this a Daoguang mark as well?

Is there any possibility to read and understand these kinds of marks except for with books or experience?
For me it are just stripes with a symbol(?) in the middle.

Also, is this considered export porcelain?
For the European market or rather Asian/American?

Looking at decorations/colors, what are the rarer ones to look for? I've seen carrots being typed as rare but I don't know if there are others?
I'm guessing this is a pretty common one..

The marks may differ, but the style and workmanship is the same. Thus, all of the same period. You will also find that the back usually has a slightly greenish hue.
Everything made in Canton was made exclusively for export. As to where these items went, this is difficult to tell from here, in the Far East, I'm afraid. Such information is more likely available from the Eastindia Companies' logs, if still existing, or from research in the concerned importing countries. I never heard that any such information exists in China. Until about ten years ago the Chinese had no interest at all in export porcelain.
