Hallo Peter and members,

Please your opinion on this plate.

Thank you very much in advance.

Pablo82

Is there a character impressed?

peterp

These plates were used by common people, usually late Qing to republic period. The bottom is normally unglazed and there is no mark. The characters pricked in the glaze are not marks. See "Marks" section of main site for details.

Pablo82

So the pricked character in the glaze could be referred to an owner's name?

peterp

Owner's marking. Sometimes it is not a real existing, legible character. Often it is not a name.
