Dear Members,

I was wondering if anyone could provide any information about these two pieces. The first is a charger, maybe about 14" and the second is what I believe to be some sort of basin. I don't have much experience with these types of wares and are not even sure they are Chinese.

Thank you,

Bokaba

Hi Bokaba, the Charger is Japanese, the stilt marks on the bottom is how the Japanese fired their porcelain, not all the time but old Japanese porcelain was done this way, you should be able to see rust spots in the  blue under a magnifier if not then it is a 20 century copy.
The bowl I believe is a Japanese brush pot and the decoration is Chinese, I see a lot of Japanese bottoms done this way with the foot rim and then a recessed center like this one also the decoration on the bottom on the outside of the foot is typical Japanese decoration, could you post a clear picture of the mark on the bottom of the bowl, thanks.
