Signed by Bi Bai-tao (1861-1961).
The cyclical year given would be 1930.

Here are other works of this painter:  tinyurl.com/648x9pmy

Take good care of this item. If it is really his and not a fake, it is an item that lots of people would like to have. He was one of the "Eight Friends of Zhushan".

Wuuuu!!!!!, thanks Peter.

BTW, online many English websites call the painter Bi Botao. I verified if there is more than one reading to the character 佰 and there are two, one is 'bo' and one is 'bai'. In writing it would be the same, but according to the place the reading may differ.

Thanks Peter, that is great information.

Your post reminded me of a small dish I have. Unfortunately, the essential characters to decide from whom it is are, rubbed off too much to read. But a nice little floral/bird plate. The cyclical year given corresponds to 1928.
