unknown pottery jar with rope

does anyone know what this is and if it has any value ?

Im not sure what this is, it dose not look Japanese or Chinese.

There are Far Eastern characters visible in the top picture, but this is nothing traditional. Probably a modern studio product. The black color is not from age. It may have been made to look that way to make it appear old.
