okay thanks Stan.
I have trouble discerning what a 17th-18th century Japanese porcelain foot should look like. do you have any tips for me?
and any idea abouth the maker?
greetings rec

Stan

Generaly on chargers or plates the foot of Japanese porcelain a straight up foot on the out side is usually 20th century, on the other hand, bowls,  cups and vases can have a straight foot on early and late porcelain, but for some reason the foot on plates and chargers are slanted on earlier Japanese, it seems that from 1900 and later the straight foot is used more frequently, could you post a close up photo of the mark it is not readable.
