Blue Plate

I had some doubts before getting the piece but I saw it at the last moment before the store I was checking was about to close. So I bought it without giving it a good inspection.
The foot rim looks like early Qing to me but that is all I can comment on. The plate kind of feel too light(about 340 grams) for its size of 9 1/2" in diameter. Never seen a border with bees before.
Would like to hear your opinions on age, export or domestic, what is the scene about?

I think they are bats around the boarder, but I see what you mean with lines around the body like a bee, it looks like it could be Kangxi period.

Was there some rule about the shape of the plates that tells if they were made for export or domestic use?
I think I have to study more about the shades of the blue and the painting styles of the different periods. I have no idea how to tell if it is Kangxi or the next few reigns of the early Qing.

Kangxi usually has 5 shades of blue like your plate, I do not believe this to be export, I think it would have been uses for domestic use.

Possibly late 18th to early 19th century, or Qianlong/Jiaqing period.

Peter is it the decoration and the blue color that gives you that opinion? the color blue seems to be off from the blue kangxi blue.

Kangxi has not only one type of porcelain, or blue...such things can seldom be identified with one single reign. The Kangxi reign has been very long and within it early, middle and late periods are recognized, with porcelain having some different features.
