Hi,

I have a heavy, celadon piece--that is a bit off kilter--and I am wondering if the motifs inside the lotus leaves give any kind of clue to region or dynasty. I'm trying to learn about all of this as fast as I can--I've just discovered celadon and love it.

Many thanks.

I have never seen an octagonal high foot like this on Chinese tazzas. And usually Chinese high feet or stems are relatively small in diameter. Korean ceramics do have a wide diameter. Could it be Korean?

Peter, thank you for your reply.
I am not familiar with Korean ceramics, so I can't answer that, but my sense was and is that it is Chinese. I am doing more research and will let you know if I can find out more.
