Large vase with strange writing on bottom

This vase with writing on the bottom... i can make out what looks to be the word China but I am unsure.  Can you tell me what it reads and what type of vase this is? Thanks for your help! Julie

The shape is Chinese, but decoration style and motif both are Japanese.
The mark says Made in China, again both in English and Chinese.
As one of the characters wasn't used before the second half of the 20th century. As the Japanese are unlikely to mark an item Made in China, if they had made it, the only conclusion is that it is a Chinese imitation of Japanese decorations made in China in the second half of the 20th century. The style is somewhat reminescent of Satsuma ware.
