Hello everyone, to start with I'm kind of new at collecting Chinese Porcelain so I ask you for your patience. With that being said, I'm thinking of buying this vase and I'm not sure whether or not this is Chinese or Japanese porcelain. If it is Chinese is there anyone who can identify this mark for me?, or tell whether it's contemporary or antique.

Thank You,
Spiperato

Sorry I didn't know that I couldn't use third party pics. Here's the the link that they came from. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/

It seems to be a Japanese name (person or place), but this is a seldom used character. Could not tell how this is read.

The porcelain appears to be very white and very dense, looks like it could be vintage or later.

Regarding the bottom of this vase, is it common practice to grind away the glaze in order to stamp the mark? as is done on this one.

Looks as if the glaze was not applied in the area, or removed, before firing; with the orange edge it cannot have been ground.
