celadon vase

Hi Peter, I purchased this celadon a while back and have been trying to find out more about it,I recently found a picture in one of my books that looks just like this one, The one in my book says it is Southern Song dynasty, other than that I have not been able to find anything that looks like this vase with the ribbed body like this one, please let me know if you can find out how old it is, thanks from stan.

I have never seen one that has this type of rippled exterior, but that means nothing. Have seen few items of that time.
Usually you should find at least one seam somewhere in the middle area where the top and lower parts were fit together.
The clay or paste at the base should look loose. If the clay looks too fine it is likely more recent. In my view the base looks abit too dense, with this item. The impurities are unrelated.
I'm also having doubts because the base looks orange. This usually means an iron wash. But if it is this orange color (on right side of picture), it would mean the clay is fairly white, containing much Kaolin, which would have been limited to a few kilns in the Song dynasty. I don't think a wash was usual with white items, then.

Thank you Peter, the dealer that I got this from said he guarantees that this vase is 200 plus years old, when I click on it with my fingers I can hear a ring similar to the porcelain vases that I have, I also have some stone ware vases that have a dull sound when I click it with my fingers, this vase is definitely porcelain, I also took a dental mirror with a light on it and it is definitely made in 3 sections, but I do not see a lot of cracks like my traditional vase, on that vase, I can see where it was joined and there is a lot of cracks all through where it was joined, On this vase I am not seeing that, but just a seem where it was pressed on, it almost looks as if the very bottom was joined the same way and the very top. This vase is 36.32 cm tall and 21.59 cm at its widest point, I do not believe that this is from the Song dynasty, just the one I found in my book but that one is only 16.5cm high. but it is the same shape and has the same ribbed body, do you think that it could be 200 years old?

If it were 200 years old, that would mean from the Qing dynasty. I can only tell you that many items that were made in the Qing dynasty, but are copies of Yuan/Song items are recognized by the narrow foot rim, although there are exceptions. Still, the bottom looks like nothing I know.

Just wanted to add the the surface consistency of the base is like nothing I know, either Qing or earlier.
