Kangxi brush pot?

Ceramic brush pot.
I have seen very few inscribed marks before- why do this when the have pigments?

Unglazed bottoms do not usually have marks.
This one was likely added after firing.

Hi Calder, just out of curiosity, I bought a brush pot the same color as yours and I found out that the glaze glows in the dark, mine has a crackle and your appears to not have a crackle glaze, but hold your brush pot up to a light and take it to a dark area and see if it glows, if it dose it was probably made in the same place as mine, mine turned out to be not old.

Hi Stan What properties would the porcelain have for it to glow?
This one  does not.

Hi Calder, I can't remember the town, but Peter was very explanatory of the place and the luminescent mineral that was used, it only comes from a certain place in China and is no longer used because of cost, it was very expensive to manufacture and therefore it is not being used to day, but you can look under the archives under on of my posts, it would probably be under Chinese brush pot, I will look later when I have more time and find the town and mineral.
