Japanese or Chinese?

The decoration could be either, in my view, but the foot rim is slanted inward, thus it should be Chinese.

After you see enough of this type " Chinese Imari " You can tell at first glance, however like anything else there are ecxeptions.

Due the quality of the porcelain I think this is (late) kangxi?

Although a few imitations may have been made in the 19th century, Chinese Imari has to be Kangxi, usually. Chinese Imari was made for export and is the result of Chinese suppliers trying to get the orders back from the V.O.C., that went to Japan while China was closed off in the 17th century.
