Chinese (???) vase 9'' tall

This is not a traditional Chinese shape. This can be the case if it is early Qing export porcelain, but then, looking at the lower third of the body the decoration looks more likely Japanese. Stan, what do you think?

Looks Japanese to me too.

Yes, I agree Japanese, I have some vases that have this raised ring around the base and I have seen this diamond pattern or honey comb pattern on Imari ware.
