Hello everybody,

Any information about this piece?

Thanks in advance,

peterp

I'm afraid this is a fake.
The clay is much too rough for any period and the glaze contains too many impurities.
The crackling can be an age sign, but it can and often IS induced artificially.
So, above are all not real age signs.

The dragon appears to be imitating a Yuan dynasty dragon, but the mouth is not right for the period. The scales would be all hand-painted if very old, but here the scales were possibly added by transfer. That is why there are lines where the scales do not meet, that is, where the flow of the scales seems to be broken.

An item specifically made to look old, but probably isn't. My personal opinion.

Dear Peter,

I agree with you. I never thought it could be really old, I just wanted to confirm that it couldn't be from a little-known kiln or from some other country. Thank you so much for sharing your opinion!
