Porcelain libatory cup

Hello ,

  here is a  libatory  porcelain cup, which has been dated to the kangxi period. Is it possible that it is older? Is this a listed decoration, a specific type of scenery?

Dehua libation cup, probably from the Qing dynasty. Not sure from when exactly.
With blanc-de-chine from Dehua the tone or hue of white is relevant to age. If from the Ming dynasty, it should have a yellowish hue. Pure white means it is from the late Qing dynasty.

Hi Moska, I own a libation cup as well that has solid provenance and expert advise that dates it to the late Ming Dynasty. I will take pictures and post them for you so you can see the difference. Peterp is correct in saying that most pure white Dehua porcalin comes from the mid to late Qing Dynasty and Ming Dehua ranges from yellowish tones but more usually has a slight peachy/pinky tone to the glaze. Most dehua from the Ming Dynasty will also be somewhat heavily crazed and crackled.  There is also usually a difference in the decoration on the cups. Most Ming pieces tend to have decor that is not as heavily defined in detail as the Qing pieces even from the Kangxi regin.
