Meiji Period Kutani "Scallopped" Plate

Hi Stan,

I was wondering if you thought this plate was Meiji Period as it is marked Dai Nippon Kutani Tsukuru. Would you call the edges here scalloped? It is about 9 inches in diameter.

Hi bokaba, yes this is a scalloped edge and a nice Kutani plate, I would say by the foot this is a late Meiji, earlier examples would show the out side of the foot rounded where the foot meets the base, here it appears to be straight up.
