was told this vase was from 1736-1796 please help identify it

Got this at a garage sale in  Ontario, Canada.  Had some Chinese  guy call china for me and he said it was made during 1736 to 1796 said the people he called in china at a auction place or something.
i would like too know if this is true it a very nice vase. Can anyone help me id this china vase thanks!

This is a modern item. With this I mean made within the last two or three decades, perhaps.
The first image shows writing in simplified characters, used from the 1960s.
The peacock decoration and colors used are also more recent. The whole looks like new items being sold now.
