Please upload a clear picture of the bottom. The foot rim and base area may contain hints as to origin... and a top view too.

Hi Calder, nice Plate, this is Japanese, the Chinese Jiaqing mark would have been written correctly if it was Chinese, I have never seen a Jiaqing mark on japanese before, the foot would put this in the 20th century first half in my opinion.

Indeed, clearly a Japanese decoration and underside. For me this mark is also a first on Japanese porcelain.
