Title: What Can You Tell Me About This Blanc De Chine Figurine
Post by: kardinalisimo on Feb 19, 2014, 08:03:27
I could not find any marks. To me the piece looks like very nice quality.  Sharp edges on the decoration.
Any idea if it recent, old? This is not Guanyin, is it?
In general, what are the signs that can help determine the age of blanc de chine pieces - color, bottom, etc..?
Thanks

This is recently made. The face itself already shows that it is nothing traditional.
I do not recommend collecting blanc-de-chine (or any monochrome items for that matter), unless you are able to distinguish traditional styles, age, etc. for polychrome items first. And, even then it may be difficult.
It is more difficult because you have less points to check for authenticity or age.
