Appears to be recent. Are those Japanese characters?
Thanks

Chinese characters, but the shape and color are nothing traditional Chinese. The shape looks moreJapanese. The content of the mark is not Japanese, at least not contemporary Japanese.  An odd combination, but I cannot tell if the mark is fake or not.

This is probably manufacturer: www.middlekingdomporcelain.com
The first three characters mean Middle Kingdom, but the way we use it for China, there is no character in the middle.
