Title: Large Fencai porcelain vase
Post by: Stan on Dec 07, 2014, 06:40:53
Hi Peter, this is I think one of the nicest Fencai vases I have owned, all the colors are translucent and hand drawn, the hight is 55.6 cm and the width is 39.8 wide, there is a spurious red Qianlong mark, this vase has nice age signs inside the vase and looks to me to be from the Guangxu period, but not so sure, your expertise is appreciated, I will post 16 photo's to view. Thanks again.

I like it too Stan.
The bats are late Qing. Maybe later than Guangxu. Xuantong?

Thanks Kardinalisimo, I picked this up at the local auction, the turn out for some reason was small and there was hardly anyone bidding on the Chinese. so I lucked out.

Much of the decoration could be late Qing or republic. There is a red Qianlong mark in Zhuanti characters. The shape of the bats and the bright blue of one of these means probably it may be on the later side, republic would be more probable. My personal view.
