Title: Identifying makers mark on the item
Post by: BAFFLE on Nov 22, 2014, 05:29:53
Hi there,

I was given an old chinese teaset, it belonged to my Great Nan.  I know its really old but other than that, I know nothing about it.  Have included a photo.  Can you please identify the makers marking and also can you tell me approximately how old it is.  Thank you so much for your assistance in this matter.

Kind regards
Kay

Hi, this is the mark of the Japanese Suzuki company, it is likely mid 20th century, but pictures of the whole item would help dating it.

Yes, mid 20th century, after WWII, is right, I think. The decoration is printed and then maybe coloured by hand. This kind of porcelain was mass produced for export.
