Title: vintage Chinese nut dish?
Post by: carefreedentons on Oct 17, 2014, 05:41:48
Would like to know what the mark means, as well as the origin and age.  Appreciate any assistance.

This is Japanese, possibly Kutani, late 20th century.

Hi, I agree with Stan, but I would date this a bit earlier, to the 1920s - 1930s.

Normally this would date to the 20s or 30s but the bottom on this puts it much later, a modern bottom.

Stan, what is it that makes you think the bottom is modern? To me it looks fine for 1920s-1930s, and the hastily drawn mark too...
