Title: WANLI MARK WUCAI
Post by: calder on Sep 24, 2014, 07:59:51
Wanli reign mark to the base (1573 ? 1619)
I remember Peter saying that the marks appear also on Japanese Porcelain.
Thoughts?

Hi Calder, It is really getting harder these days to discern from the old to the new because the paint color match on porcelain is getting almost impossible to tell the difference on color alone, I have purchased a couple items that the colors are a perfect match for old but the decoration put it at a later date so I found out afterwards, we have to take into account the decoration style as well, study a piece before you buy it and you will not be as easily fooled, it is hard when you like a piece to not be fooled.
