Title: Tea Pot Blue White Porcelain
Post by: elizabeth on Sep 04, 2014, 09:41:51
Hello... Been shopping again and picked up an interesting teapot that has an unmovable top handle.  It signed on the bottom..  The foot ring has some slip or or glaze that has slopped under the to the bottom. It is signed.    Can you tell me what the signature says?  And do you think this is an old one or a 20th century one.    I recall from your book to not put a lot of stock in the signature... But the handle is different then what have seen.. and the fact that the glaze run off makes me think it could be an oldie.

This old vintage ewer of chinese probably 60 - 50 years old. In my opinion this is made not to fool the buyer but it's only for the decoration.
So I can't not say that it's fake.

The last tea pot you posted is obviously Chinese export and I agree with Tonny's age of it.
