Title: Miniature Clay Teapot-Chinese or Japanese? Mark ID? Age?
Post by: Kaaren B. on Jul 28, 2024, 03:43:34
This is my other miniature teapot. Dark brown clay, spout is slightly chipped, the enamel or paint work design is not marred. I do not recognize the impressed mark. I can't even guess the age. Thanks for any information, especially on the mark. Kaaren

Looks like Chinese stoneware.
The mark appears to be 老安順(製). In mandarin this would read 'Lao Anshun' (made).
I post here two links:

Probably not that old. that is type teaware collectors involved in the Fujian style of tea preparation collect. The manufacturing area seems to be in the Shandou, Zhaozhou area, between Fujian and Guangdong (Hong Kong)
