Title: Antique Miniature Unmarked Teapot-Chinese or Japanese? Porcelain/Earthenware?
Post by: Kaaren B. on Jul 28, 2024, 03:38:07
I have two miniature teapots and am posting both today. This one is unmarked. I think it is Chinese but I am not sure. It measures 4" across. The wire handle is corroded and falling apart. I suspect it is very old? I am also unsure whether it is earthenware or porcelain, as it gives off a dull thud when tapped. Any identification ideas appreciated. Thank you! Kaaren

This looks Japanese to me, Nippon has similar decorations, this probably had a sticker saying made in Japan that fell off over the years, 1st quarter of the 20th century.
