Title: Unusual Dragon Vase - Trying to ID
Post by: heidicoble on Apr 28, 2024, 09:26:19
Hi - Please take a look at a vase we inherited.  Grandmother had boarding house in San Pedro Ca.  Took vase as payment back in the 1940's.  We think maybe WW II or korean war.  It was a Sailor that aquired it overseas.  Japan Korea??  It is 18 in tall and has 3 different dragons with strange feet.  Any info would be helpful.  Thanks

Mythical animals but no dragon, as far as I see.
This is probably from the late 19th or early 20th century, Guangxu reign, judging by the painting style, judging by these pictures. The mouth usually shows some age or usage signs, if there are any.
