I was recently given this with other good pieces that I could identify. But this one looks modern, possibly a tourist piece or SEAsia import. I would be grateful Peter if you could confirm for me. Thank you kindly.

Yes, I believe so too. A number of years ago suddenly a lot of such lidded jars appeared. The crackling is artificial.
