Post by: smak on Mar 17, 2022, 23:54:09
Hi all,

I have not seen examples like this before. What do you guys think? I honestly dont know the age of this one. Would like to learn since theres limited examples of these stem cups.

I can't help. If there were no decorations I would have thought it might be Longquan, but a stem cup with fish? Never seen, and the petal decoration on the outside is also somewhat different from those I know. Is there a decoration or decorations on the inside wall? If yes, for me this and the shiny glaze in combination with the crackling would be of concern. These may not go together with Ming Longquan. Many Longquan glazes are not reflecting the light at all. Not sure what this is...

Hmmm I dont think theres decorations on the inside wall.

I'm just confused with what this is, I thought it was a Yuan maybe if not early Ming?

The yellow/white edges should be Ming. Also the type of crackled celadon appears on Ming plates. You should do a special research on Longquan, if you want to go after such detailed dating after such a long time. :)
