Title: Little crackle glazed vase
Post by: abramojones on Jan 24, 2022, 23:03:05
Hello everyone,

this week I got this little crackle glazed vase at a charity auction. I think it could be fairly modern and without any particular value (and maybe also partially or totally transfer printed), but I'd like to have your opinion. Unfortunately there seemed to be a mark on base, but it is almost completely faded away.

Thank you in advance for your kindness.

Hi Abramojones, you are correct, this is modern, the crackle you see was made that way when it was fired in the kiln and removed in cooler temperatures to get this crackle affect,  bottoms like these were dominant in the 60's and later, Im not sure if that is a mark or just a smudge.
