Hi Dominique, the subject matter is Chinese, it is my opinion that this is Chinese not Japanese porcelain. Im not sure about the mark, I do not think it is a mark, possibly a makers mark but I never have seen on like it.

I think it is not. Further, see that heart shape? It is highly unlikely that you find that in Chinese culture of any time. This is something modern, western. It might be that this should have been a 'ruyi' shape, but ruyi are never styled this way.
