Title: Qianjiang style vase
Post by: Adriano on Mar 11, 2021, 22:20:40
I would like your thought on this vase.
My feeling is early Republic period.
Late Qing should have more rust spots in the neck and foot rim more rounded, I think.
I have seen porcelain with similar decoration dated in the early 1920s; may be that calligraphy can help in dating.

Thank you.

The type of "ears" used is also more likely on the later side. One thing supporting republic period is the hairdo of the ladies. You will find that there was a change of this from imperial China to the republic.

Thank you Peter for your appraisal.
I realize that hairdo of the ladies is an important aspect to look at: very helpful consideration.

Kind regards.
