can anyone tell me more about this, it measures 3"high

Moving this to Japanese...

The mark says 'Genroku' 元祿. Not sure if it is referring to the era or if it is a potter's name. It looks a bit too new for the era, though, I think.

oke,...yes it certainly looks like new, but the signature looks old, strange, so my question

Yes Peter is right, this is late 20th century, made in an injection mould.
