Title: Ming style red vase
Post by: smak on Apr 11, 2020, 10:03:28
I'm just going to assume this is a reproduction of a Ming dynasty vase. Am I wrong to assume?

This is an easy to recognize fake, I'm afraid.  First, if authentic Ming, this would have to be Hongwu reign, in which case the price of this would be at least in the tens or hundreds of thousands.
However, base and foot rim are wrong for any period. Most of us never even have seen an authentic underglaze red item of that period, except perhaps behind the glass of a museum.
