Title: Lavender and Green Flambe' Bottle Vase
Post by: mikelv85 on Jul 09, 2014, 01:23:52
Found this little 9 1/2 in. bottle vase in a local thrift store I usually shop at. I'm kind of puzzled by this one. I'm not sure if it's Asian or European. Old or new.The top is modeled very thin with a brown rim. It gradually changes to blue green as it flows down the neck to the body which seems thicker and denser where it becomes lavender with very faint streaks of blue green. The bottom has no marks but is glazed with green and a bit of brown. The foot ring shows some dirt. I had it out in the sun to take pictures of the neck and it looks darker for some reason. The neck shows the biggest color shift on the whole piece. It's really quite pretty and undamaged. Thanks for any help and expertise. -Mike-

Looks indeed as if it were Chinese, but is probably more recent.

Thank you Peter. As I expected just wasn't really sure.
