Title: Chinese or European armorial XIX c?
Post by: haukech on Nov 14, 2019, 15:49:01
Dear All,
Found recently this armorial and while the body is more creamy dont know if by design it should be Chinese or European manufacture. Thanks for your comments.

The base is apparently 18th century Chinese, the color decoration Yongzheng reign or later.

Thanks Peterp. I was suspicious aboit the Chinese figures in the emblem which looked to me somehow as chinoiserie.

Not sure what those are, but no characters. The only thing that could give rise to suspicion is the perfect state of the plate, but many export items were actually never used.

Hi Haukech.
"Fortitudo" is latin word meaning bravery.
