Title: chinese dish
Post by: konniela on Nov 11, 2019, 04:52:32
Hello everybody,

this plate looks very similar to one between pieces found on Desaru shipwreck, there named spring dish. I would like to know, if this one here can be from 19.century. The seal makes me doubt more.

Thanks

Underglaze blue and red plates with birds of this type are usually attributed to the mid-Qing dynasty or Yongzheng reign. This is not from a wreck. Likely made a Dehua kiln.
