Sorry, I don't have side views. I'll ask my friends to take more and better pictures of it when he gets a chance. Thanks for all the help so far.

Basically, this looks as if it was the lid of something. With the holes it could be from a censer, but it might be difficult to take off. Not sure, but I got the impression that it is not Chinese despite the motif.
If it was Chinese, it would probably be 20th century, due the whiteness of the glaze.
Usually the top portion is decorated, so no bowl.
