My friend inherited a collection of ceramics pieces from his father. He has a very rudimentary knowledge of Chinese ceramic and I'm helping him identifying some pieces from the collection.
Here is a small saucer, purported from the Yuan period (after him). Measuring 3 3/4" x 7/8". Can you please shed any information on it ?

Yuan could be right. This is based on the fact that the glaze does not go down to the bottom, and the top rim is unglazed, which in turn could mean that the item had fit a metal rim cover, originally. These mean that it probably is later than Song but earlier than Ming.
The base shape without foot rim could be from any time. This is a non-topple base, meaning that if the bowl is tipped at the edge it will righten itself.
