Title: Floral Design Signed Vase Kangxi 4 character mark ID
Post by: Lalakiross on Aug 06, 2019, 02:06:26
Hi there,

I am looking for some guidance on ID for a floral vase. It is around 7" tall.

It carries a 4 character mark which seems to be Kangxi, so would this be a later 19th/early 20th century copy?

Thanks

Ross

These pictures are insufficient to tell what this is. At the very least there should be a picture of the bottom, a detail of the foot rim, and a close-up shot or two of the decoration. The inside of the mouth may also help.
Four character Kangxi marks were mostly used towards the end of the Qing dynasty, but the mark itself could of course also be from a later period. Thus it is necessary to first estimate an age; marks cannot be used for dating Chinese porcelain.
