This dish looks like Satsuma, Japan. Not sure about age

This looks like Hichozan Shinpo, he also did Satsuma style ware, this is done in his style Mid Meiji in my opinion.

I think this is pure artistry and not for any specific purpose, this was the difference between the Japanese and the Chinese, the Chinese were restricted to tradition and the japanese were not bound by traditional shapes and styles, they were free to express their artistry.
