Title: Junglaze? bowl
Post by: MarieLouise on Jun 18, 2019, 02:26:02
Hello everybody,

If some of you would be so kind to help me finding out more about this (possibly Junglaze?) bowl.
It seems wheel thrown.
And maybe someone recognizes the mark on the base?

Height:      6 cm /  2.36"
Diameter: 16 cm / 6.3"

Your expertise is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi Marie, the shape is a bit strange in my opinion, it looks like a hat, but I am not familiar with these type of glazes, it looks more recent to me, lets see what Peter has to say.

The unglazed clay color is wrong for Jun, and Jun would have no such mark, but Japanese items do. And, the shape is not Chinese either. Japanese in my view.
