Title: Langyao red vase
Post by: Pablo82 on Apr 24, 2019, 23:41:11
Hi Peter and members,

Please your expert opinion on this oxblood vase. Could it be mid Qing? Could it deserve a professional restoration?

Thank you very much.

This is likely late Qing, the foot rim is also typical for that period when the glaze was knocked off at the bottom as it was flowing all the way down in the kiln.
Not Langyao red. That has a completely different type of red glaze that was not flowing down to the bottom and would often have a white mouth (on the outside) too.
