Title: Large Japanse Vase with Birds and Flowers
Post by: wildflowerfield on Feb 24, 2019, 23:50:20
Hello,

I brought this pretty large vase:

It is 17" in hight (45 cm). Is it true the sign is saying "Nippon" meaning Japan? And the mountain is Fuji? And maybe its from around the 1950s? Can someone say something about the painting quality or quality at all?

Many thanks,
Nicky

You are right, the two character say nippon and the mountain is fuji (with a stream). The mark is similar to fukagawa, but I am not sure with dating, may be second half fo 20th century
