Title: Old Pottery Bowl w/ Characters
Post by: tipton444 on Dec 14, 2018, 04:51:19
Hello,

I recently acquired this neat bowl, and would love to learn more about it.  Can someone read the Chinese characters on the side for me?  It appears as though someone used this bowl as a planter (or maybe as a lamp even) because a hole has been drilled through the bottom...unfortunately the hole is right where the bowl was stamped or signed...Can anyone identify what the marking on the bottom is?  Thank you!

This is glazed/painted Yixing stoneware. As such only someone specialized on Yixing wares may be able to identify the mark. But what is still visible might not be sufficient.

Great, thank you very much as always Peter.  If anyone know what the character marks on the glaze, or side of the bowl is that would be great.
