Title: Meiping vase
Post by: konniela on Dec 03, 2018, 00:49:11
Hello everybody.

I have seen this vase, it it offered as a Meiping vase made around 1800 and should have been in an auction in 1976.
I have only this one photo, but I can say, that it has no mark and the footrim looks like from my jiangxi brush holder from september.
There is a wave pattern in the backround.

I think, it is not from around 1800, to me it looks more like republic period.

Thanks for help an interest

Hi Konniela, the face looks modern to me and I would not buy something if I could not see the bottom, the bottom will tell us a lot.

The shape is also not normal for an antique. The base is much smaller proportionally, than a traditional meiping vase.
