Title: Republic Liu Hai Figure??
Post by: ssbill on Oct 26, 2018, 05:10:26
Hi
I bought this figure a week ago from Portugal. I've been told it is probably a late-qing or republican piece. The gilting doesn't look new and has some wear.  Is this old or a modern reproduction?

Without a close-up picture showing details of bottom and mark it is difficult to tell.

It's pretty much the closer I can focus with my camera. I don't think it is brand new. The woman who sold it to me told me it was brought by her parent who travelled to china decades ago.

It appears to be from the republic period, made by ??? Wei Hong-tai. The style resembles his other figures.
