Hello everybody, I have this beautiful Chinese large dish, hand painted, I think Famille Rose, with a red zhuanshu mark that I can not identify. I Will really like some help! Thank you all in advance.
Hi, better pictures would help. At first sight, it looks to be made between 1930s to 1950s.
For the mark you can look on the watersilkdragon website to see if you can find it.
And yes this would be famille rose
Thank you!!! Yes, I Will upload better pictures.
I don't think you can call this a famille rose because there are no roses, and I could not find the mark in my book of marks, perhaps from the 1980's.
I think this dish is painted in Famille Rose style.
Famille Rose refers to Chinese porcelain decorated with predominantly pink coloured enamel, and the majority of the enamels is opaque or semi-opaque.
It does not matter if the roses flowers are present or not.
Yes your right, I was thinking of the rose medallion pattern.
This is not a zhuanshu mark but rather a type of artists's seal mark.
Thank you for your replies, I'm thinking the same thing about the mark could be an artist's seal and not a zhuanshu mark, because I can not find it anywhere.
This is not an antique item. Judging by the painting style it could be perhaps last quarter of the 20th century, or later.
Thank you so much for your reply!
